Thank you for the reference in your July 13 editorial (page 4) to my Women of Distinction award. It was a real honour to be selected from the outstanding group of women nominated in the category of business, management and the professions.
I would like to clarify though that the Women of Distinction awards are presented by the YWCA, not by CIPS. YWCAs across the country present the awards annually to recognize women who have contributed to their communities in various categories.
It is exciting to see IT recognized as an important aspect of the community, and to have CIPS’ efforts to improve the profession recognized.
