Compaq Canada Inc. has unveiled the Compaq iPaq BlackBerry Wireless E-mail Solution, along with complete server and service packages. These devices are a result of Compaq’s alliance with Waterloo, Ont.-based Research In Motion Ltd. and provide remote wireless e-mail access from almost anywhere in North America while meeting the requirements of security and integration. The companies combined RIM’s wireless expertise with the support and integrated messaging offered by Compaq. The BlackBerry products include a server platform, installation and support services and allow customers to read, compose, forward, reply, delete or file e-mail messages, and determine which messages they want to receive on their handheld. The devices maintain a single corporate e-mail address and mailbox. The Compaq iPaq W1000 BlackBerry is a wearable device about the size of a pager and has an integrated keyboard. The Compaq iPaq H1100 BlackBerry is a similar handheld device with a large high resolution screen, extra memory and a rechargeable Lithium battery. Pricing for the iPaqs (www6.compaq.ca/English/business/handhelds/ipaq/specs.htm) was not available at press time. Compaq Canada in Richmond Hill, Ont., can be reached at 1-800-652-6672.

Prices listed are in US currency.
