Today’s business computing is all about flexibility. Does your IT dynamically enable new processes and provide a faster and more direct way of servicing customers and business partners? It should. The Technology Insights session in Toronto considered how to deliver information technology with greater agility and efficiency. Discussion began with a focus on Real-Time Infrastructure, a next-generation approach for computing that many Canadian business enterprises are investigating. Known as RTI, it’s designed to make the most of your resources in real time: people, processes and technologies, system events and business events. With RTI, there are no islands: capacity is shared in a system that is more holistic in view and efficient in result. RTI addresses the need by Canadian organizations to achieve process integration and systems efficiency – the top technology priority for business that was cited by senior IT executives in IT World Canada’s 2008 State-of-the-CIO study. We’ll expand the RTI discussion to consider other key elements in the building and maintaining of “virtual, agile, dynamic and aligned computing,”
