What is Social Networking

Social networking is the interaction of individuals with the objective of developing personal or professional relationships. Social networking groups typically share a common interest. While face-to-face social networking has always existed, the Internet has created the means to interact in real time with virtually unlimited numbers of people. Social networking web sites such as Facebook, and LinkedIn provide simple tools to create and interact with virtual communities of common interest.
