Network Storage

Network Storage refers to network-connected storage devices accessible to users connected to the network, as distinct from storage dedicated to an application server or user computer. Two common models of network storage are deployed. Storage Area Network (SAN) is a network of storage devices managed as a pool and supporting multiple servers. Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a dedicated file server, accessible to network users, and designed specifically to handle I/O requests efficiently.
