About App Store

App Store is a software distribution service developed and maintained by Apple, enabling users to browse and download free and paid applications developed for Apple’s mobile platforms. Similar services have been established by many of the major mobile technology vendors including Google’s Android Market, RIM’s App World and Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace. Some enterprises now emulate the online ‘app store’ as an on-demand means to distribute approved applications to internal users.
