Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Samsung established its Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, in 1987. However, Samsung has been a force in the Canadian marketplace for years as it has offered consumer products to the general public.

According to South Korean's Chosun Daily News site, Samsung Group's 2005 sales, translated to GDP, ranked 35th among 180 nations, larger than Malaysia and Singapore, and a little smaller than Argentina. For a small Korean company, Samsung has absolutely come a long way since it was established in 1938 by Lee Byung-chull.
