What is .NET Framework?


.NET is Microsoft’s Web services strategy which treats software as a set of services, accessible locally and across networks. .NET provides tools and libraries that enable developers to create Windows software using a number of programming languages, including Visual Basic .NET, C++, others. .NET programs run in a software environment, the Common Language Runtime (CLR), which provides services such as memory management, and frees developers from concerns such as processor-specific instructions.
