Women in IT: Opportunities getting worse or better?

International Women’s Day was marked this week with another disheartening report on the state of women in the technology industry.

Women who are in high IT positions around the world continue to say there are significant obstacles facing them.

However, Leo King also writes in Forbes, they also say there are a number of emerging opportunities for women.

The story only report statistics for the U.S., but there’s no evidence to show that things are better here.

There are two things that will change this: Hard work by women pushing into the industry, and management realizing the skills of women on staff and encouraging them.

If you only just noticed the lack of women in your IT department, have a read. And if your organization has had success in recruiting and promoting women, lets us know.
