The company said its online software will assist executives in planning and budgeting for business meetings.

Worktopia Inc. has launched a new Web-based tool aimed at simplifying the process of scheduling business meetings.

The Harrison, NY-based company said its Universal Meeting Solution (UMS) will automate the way meeting planners search, compare and book space for meeting rooms, arrange catering, and rent AV equipment. Worktopia also said that USM can offer attendees detailed meeting activity reports and user enrollment tools.

“Companies have developed excellent spending controls over everyday business trips, but still have virtually no central control over the booking process for simple meetings,” John Arenas, Worktopia's CEO, said in a release. Worktopia also said the UMS will give financial executives a detailed overview into what their companies are spending on their meetings.

The tool was launched at this week’s NBTA 2008 International Convention and Exposition in Los Angeles.
