Cisco: Video will soon dominate Internet traffic

IT WORLD CANADA CURATED: Cisco predicts that video traffic will account for up to 90% of data flowing over networks in the next few years

Video communication has exploded in recent years, with the quality and quantity of video content increasing every day. As one of the most bandwidth-intensive forms of data, it's long occupied a disproportionate share of total data over worldwide networks. 

Recently, Cisco predicted six times as much enterprise video traffic(conferencing and the like) by 2016.
