Vicomsoft has announced the release of Secure Internet Gateway 8 for Mac OS X. As the name implies, it's an Internet connectivity and security product developed specifically for Mac OS X.

Internet Gateway enables users on the same network to share a single Internet connection through one account. Any connection type from a modem to an ADSL line can be used.

Features include the ability to set up a Firewall that reduces the likelihood your network will be accessed by unwanted intruders on the Internet. You can also set up management features to help control access and time restrictions, if necessary, and to monitor inbound and outbound network activity.

Vicomsoft claimed that Secure Internet Gateway is the first fully integrated suite of network management tools with Internet content filtering capabilities for Mac OS X.

The software is available for US$149 for up to 10 users. Box versions of the software are available through MacMall.
