SAP to support VMWare server

Partnership between the two companies will provided a dedicated SAP on VMWare support staff and a competency centre

SAP AG has announced it will offer full support for Microsoft Windows and Linux 64-bit production environments running on VMWare's ESX Server.

The companies announced in a statement that they will support joint customers with a dedicated support staff.

ESX Server is a component of VMWare's Infrastructure software suite. The virtualization suite supports SAP products on Dell, Fujitsu-Siemens, HP, IBM and Sun hardware platforms.

The companies also announced the first Virtualization Competency Centre for SAP solutions. Located in Walldorf, Germany, and operated by consulting company AddOn Systemhaus, the centre will help customers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia with design, migration and optimization simulations of SAP on VMWare, the companies said.
