Qualcomm, Adobe join forces with developer tools

The BREW Mobile Platform is designed for developers making rich applications for wireless devices. Find out which tools it supports

Qualcomm Inc. and Adobe Systems Inc. have announced BREW Mobile Platform, scheduled to ship later this year.

The software lets developers make rich applications and Web content in Adobe Flash for wireless handsets. The vendors promise this version will have new features for multimedia and content support, as well as access to device databases and touchscreen user interface development. Both Adobe and Qualcomm plan to make developer tools for BREW.

The vendors say with BREW Mobile Platform, Flash designers and developers will be able to use Flash CS3 Professional, Adobe Device Central CS3 and other developer tools to make Flash-based applications.

It is backwards compatible with applications developed for previous versions of the BREW client.
