The Compliance and Validation Services are designed to let users apply a regulatory checklist to wikis or blogs before they are published on the corporate Web sites. How Extended Collaboration rounds out the software offerings

Open Text Corp. has added compliance capabilities to its Web 2.0 for Livelink products and collaboration tools designed to help employees add to knowledge repositories.

The Waterloo, Ont.-based company says its Compliance and Validation Services for the Enterprise 2.0 product line let users apply regulatory or legal rules to user-generated content in social networking applications. Companies will be able to give workers the option to apply regulatory or legal checkpoints before they publish blogs, wikis and other Web 2.0 content to their Web sites. The policies could be specific to an industry or company, or could address discovery, copyright and data protection rules.

Open Text also announced it plans to release Extended Collaboration tool set later this month. Extended Collaboration is designed to let workers circulate ideas and knowledge and includes project work spaces, polls, news channels, talks and milestones.
