Open-Source: Coming to HP's rescue?

HP's new cloud offering is based on open-source technology, something that is appealing more and more to consumers

HP is one of several large vendors that have traditionally been seen to represent the opposite side of the coin to open-source. But as this article points out, the truth is somewhat different. Whether or not open-source cloud technologies can "save" HP remains to be seen, but it certainly is true that open-source is a good avenue to pursue for most cloud providers these days because of the way consumers perceive it (i.e., more flexible, offering more choice).
