Based on Nortel’s CS 1000 IP-PBX, Business Communications Manager and CallPilot products, Verizon’s managed IP-PBX service will be available to large business and government customers starting next month

Verizon Business on Monday said it had chosen voice-over-IP products from Canada’s Nortel Networks to expand its IP Trunking Services as well as its managed IP-private branch exchange services.

Based on Nortel’s CS 1000 IP-PBX, Business Communications Manager and CallPilot products, Verizon’s managed IP-PBX service will be available to large U.S. business and government customers starting next month. The company has limited presence in Canada through the former MCI assets. Verizon said the service would integrate functions such as voice-mail, e-mail and messaging.

Verizon Business said its service would include full implementation of the Nortel products, as well as management of fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security functions.
