Navteq joins Wavefront

Members of the B.C. non-profit group will get access to Navteq’s mapping data and Web portal for developers of location-based services

Navteq, a Chicago-based vendor that makes digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based services, has joined Wavefront, a B.C. non-profit organization that provides test and commercialization services for mobile application developers.

Wavefront, which received $5 million in funding from the B.C. provincial government, is providing Navteq’s map data and it’s Network for Developers, plus a Web portal designed for location-based service developers.

The Navteq Network for Devleopers discussion forums, a knowledge base and trouble ticket system.
