Linux's Win8 workaround still missing

The Linux Foundation had hoped it solved a problem with Windows 8's Secure Boot function, which prevents devices from booting with non-Windows operating systems

When Microsoft Corp. releases a new version of Windows inevitably someone has a problem.

Among them is the Linux Foundation, which has known for some time that Windows 8’s Secure Boot function that prevents Win8-certified devices from booting with non Windows-based operating systems.

As this story from NetworkWorld U.S. notes, a long-awaited workaround for Linux is near and yet so far.
