Hewlett-Packard Co. and EMC Corp. have announced offerings to enhance Microsoft’s virtualization environments.

HP introduced additions to its portfolio of servers, storage, software and services including interoperability of Microsoft virtualization technologies with HP enterprise hardware and software offerings (HP ProLiant, HP BladeSystem servers, HP StorageWorks, HP Thin Client, and HP software.)

The manufacturer said the support covers Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and Hyper-V Server, a standalone server virtualization application.

In addition, HP Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Service will provide customers with an understanding of HP VDI, which includes Citrix Xen Desktop.

Among EMC’s offerings is technology support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and Microsoft System Center Management suite as well as assessment and planning services.
