Hackers in Mexico show their independence

To protest what they believe was a fraudulent presidential election, attackers got into government Web sites on a civic holiday

Around the world people have different ways of celebrating independence day -- picnics, parades, barbeques.
 
According to a BBC report, in Mexico hackers did it this month by taking over a number of government Web sites. It's another form of civil disobedience.
 
 
 
There are certain disadvantages to this strategy: Who goes to a government Web site on a civic holiday? (Hint: Reporters who have been tipped off).
 
Still, considering all of the violence Mexican have had to put up with in the past decade, it's a wonder that this form of protest was so peaceful.
