CompTIA introduces new certification for printing and document imaging pros

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) announced yesterday a new certification for printing and document imaging.

The CompTIA Printing and Document Imaging+ certification is a vendor-neutral accreditation that shows that the certified individual has the proper skills to service and support print and document imaging hardware, and offer customer service that goes along with these devices.

Vice-president of services Richard Rysiewicz said that this certification will help professionals—including service technicians, support technicians, and help desk staff—deliver higher first-time fix rates, and reduce the cost of recruiting, hiring, and training printing and document imaging professionals.

Vendors providing their expertise and financial support for the certification include Canon, HP, Lexmark, Sharp Electronics, and Xerox.
