Fujitsu-Siemens Computers GmbH and EMC Corp. have agreed to extend a long-standing partnership by more closely integrating their respective products in a bid to improve customer satisfaction, the companies’ top executives announced at Cebit in Hanover, Germany, last month.
The agreement will give Fujitsu-Siemens’ customers “flexibility and choice in storage infrastructure,” said Bernd Bischoff, the CEO of Fujitsu-Siemens. “Customers can rely on one company providing a more diverse set of services across the whole IT stack,” he said.
Under the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu-Siemens will integrate storage and management technologies from EMC with its own FlexFrame, BladeFrame and Primergy servers. The two companies will also develop a set of products for SAP AG customers based on the FlexFrame server. A similar initiative will develop a set of products based on the BladeFrame server for companies running Microsoft Corp. software, such as SQL Server and Exchange 2007.
These products will be offered alongside consulting services from Fujitsu-Siemens IT Professional Services group, which has been certified as an EMC authorized services network partner.
