CIPPIC calls for online “do not track” list

Ottawa-based Internet privacy lobby echoes World Privacy Forum’s proposal to force online marketers to provide a list of addresses of all of their servers; IDC analyst says this would help e-commerce by building the trust of online shoppers

In a letter to the FTC, the groups called for independent auditing of companies who perform behavioural tracking. They are also asking the FTC to prohibit companies from collecting and using sensitive personal information, including health and financial activities.
