Alfresco develops collaboration tool for Red Hat

Team Collaboration Solution uses Red Hat’s JBoss Enterprise Portal Platfortm, and lets companies develop portals for both employees and partners to manage documents, publish content

Alfresco Software Inc. of Maidenhead, England has announced an open source portal development tool that uses its Enterprise Social Computing Platform and Raleigh, N.C.-based Red Hat Inc.’s JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform.

The combined offering dubbed Team Collaboration Solution, is available from Red Hat Exchange on a subscription basis.

It is designed to let companies build portal for employees or extranets for partners and customers, and to use JSR-168-compliant portlets for provisioning content collaboration, document management and Web content management services.

Porlets include: My Spaces, for enterprise document management; My Documents, for provisioning libraries or digital assets; My Web Forms, which publishes reusable content; and My Web Files, which manages in-progress changes to Web sites.
