Going Green A Comprehensive Approach to Energy Efficiency

Going Green – A Comprehensive Approach to Energy Efficiency

August 22, 2007 – Ottawa, Ontario
September 13, 2007 – Vancouver, British Columbia

There are many reasons to be concerned about how we use energy but, in business and government, one of the most compelling is escalating operational costs. Enterprises continue to find new ways to leverage information and communications technologies to improve productivity and profitability, and application growth inevitably leads to greater demands for computing, storage and communications resources. The power and cooling requirements for such resources is, likewise, increasing rapidly and by some estimates will soon represent 30 – 40 per cent of the IT operational budget.

Areas of Discussion Included:
  • Best practices in power and cooling
  • Assessment of your data-centre efficiency
  • Energy-efficient technology innovations
  • Consolidating and virtualilzing your servers and storage
