Cell phone maker Nokia Corp. has announced its intention to purchase Montreal-based mobile messaging firm Oz Communications.
The
deal, expected to be completed by the end of 2008, could allow Nokia
customers to more effectively access instant messaging and e-mail
services – such as those from Microsoft Corp., Google Inc. and Yahoo
Inc. – on their mobile devices. Oz has been in a working relationship
with Nokia over the last five years.
The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
