While
Canadian IT spending is projected to grow by just three per cent this
year, spending should increase to seven per cent in 2009, according to
a Forrester Research report.
“The
Canadian IT market has been a challenging one for vendors for the past
year or so, but there are prospects for improvement,” Andrew Bartels,
analyst and vice-president at Forrester Research, said in a release.
“It now looks like the US economy will be heading down in late 2008 and
early 2009, while the Canadian economy should start to recover.”
Forrester
also revised its IT spending projections for the U.S., setting growth
at 5.4 per cent in 2008 and 6.1 per cent in 2009.
