HP's new ProCurve 2910 Switch Series features four switches the company says have an array of deployment options to meet high bandwidth needs of mid-to-large enterprises to SMBs.
The 2910 Switch Series offers fixed port form factor PoE+ switches, providing enterprise-class, Gigabit connectivity and PoE/PoE+ flexibility, including two non-PoE switches. The PoE+ options provide higher levels of power for devices such as wireless access points, VoIP phones and newer PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) security cameras at the edge of the network, where and when needed. Products in the 2910 series have been designed for energy efficiency and have received the Miercom certified Green Distinction Award.
Two 24-port and two 48-port models are available. Three 10 Gigabit modules are available which fit directly into the 24-port 2910 switches, allowing customers to add more Gigabit uplinks as their networks expand.
Prices range from US$2,609 to US$6,599 for the switches. The Gigabit modules are extra.
