RuggedCom Inc., which makes rugged communications networking solutions used in harsh environments, has expanded its Ethernet Switch product line targeting industrial applications. The Woodbridge, Ont., company's new RuggedSwitch i800 and i801 products rounds out the i-Series family of products designed for process control applications in industries like oil and gas, petro-chemical, metals and mining, and wind farms.
These new models provide additional configuration options to complement the existing configurations available on the RuggedSwitch i802 and i803.
"The i-Series products have become very popular with customers who do not require the full RuggedRated specifications found in our other products, but who still need the high quality and unsurpassed customer service and support that has become synonymous with RuggedCom", Roger Moore, the company's vice-president of engineering said in a news release.
The RuggedSwitch i800 and i801 include eight 10/100BaseTx ports (i800) plus one additional Gigabit port (i801) in a hardened chassis that can operate from -20C to +60C. No pricing was mentioned in the release.
