I hope what ever the outcome, all the people of Canada are able to use the outcome in there daily lives. I am on the 3G Network of Rogers hoping for LTE. Try living on a 2 Gig Network. So i hope everything goes good, plus the government don't piss away the values of the people on this next sale of 700Mz.

I agree with your post. In the long run it might cause problem especially to the telecom industry unless there is limitation maybe the issues is just little.

The internet as we have it today would still function. No growth would be possible, and that is not acceptable for companies. There will be work arounds to continue the growth. One way is to use network address translators in internet provider networks. There will be other work arounds too. Depending on what you want to do with your internet connection that will still work or not.

Another thing is that more and more unused IPv4 addresses will be used. All the small bits and pieces that are now not efficient to use will become interesting. That means that the routing tables (where the reachability of all those bits and pieces will be recorded) will grow, and that might not be workable. If the number of routes grows a lot there might be problems with convergence and that would cause internet stability issues.

@ScottieAy: Yeah. The last line looks correct to me. Fido is GSM. Koodo and Solo are CDMA. Which is why the last line says the CDMA network will be left to the Solo/Koodo brands.

The last line is incorrect. FIDO is GSM/GPRS/Edge et al. Koodo is the Telus cheap offering on cdma
