Oracle Corp. customers will now able to Amazon Web Services' Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to run software and services from the enterprise software giant.
For no additional licencing fees, Oracle Database 11g, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Enterprise Manager users will be able to run their software in a cloud computing environment and quickly deploy Amazon EC2 applications.
“Providing choice is the foundation of Oracle's strategy to enable customers to become more productive and lower their IT costs – whether it's choice of hardware, operating system, or on demand computing – extending this to the Cloud environment is a natural evolution,” Robert Shimp, vice-president Oracle Global Technology Business Unit, said in a release.
He added that Oracle he is pleased to partner with Amazon Web Services to help bring familiar Oracle software to enterprise cloud computing.
