Kevin Kennedy will be taking on the top positions at Avaya come January 2009.
He's leaving his post as CEO of JDS Uniphase, while former president and CEO Charles Giancarlo will become chairman of the board.
Kennedy is also a member of Polycom and KLA-Tencor's boards, and holds an engineering Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
