Toshiba offers up WT310 business tablet

Toshiba Corp. (TYO: 6502) is offering business users Microsoft’s Windows 8 Pro operating system in a tablet platform with the release of the device maker’s new WT310 tablet.

The ultra-slim and lightweight WT310 is equipped with an 11.6-inch, full high definition and IPS anti-glare touch screen and can be purchased with either Intel Core i5 or i7 processor.

“The portability and processing power of the WT310 tablet will help business users achieve new levels of productivity,” said Yuhji Wakabayashi, business-to-business product manager for Toshiba’s Digital Product Group, a division of Toshiba Canada.

The device also comes with an optimized pen for on-screen writing which is ideal for taking notes, drawing and signature capture, Wakabayashi said.

Apart from Window 8 Pro, the WT310 also supports 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7.

The WT310 is only about an inch thick and weighs just 1.87 pounds. It has a range of ports which includes a full-sized SD card slot, USB 3.0 and Micro HDMI ports and an audio combo jack.

The WT310 can be bought through Toshiba Preferred Partner Program resellers, online retailers and directly at Toshiba.ca starting June 25 starting at $1,349.99.
