The overload is all-too real

As per the Nov. 3, 2000 issue of ComputerWorld Canada, I sincerely look forward to the day when I’ll be able to enjoy a two-week vacation and have only 1,224 e-mail messages waiting upon my return! (“Welcome to the overload,” CWC, page 42.)

Thanks to too many technical listserv subscriptions, I receive 300-plus messages per day. Happiness involves leaving e-mail at work, a massive use of filters, no PDA or portables to lug around and knowing how to use “off” buttons.
