RSA launches new BlackBerry tool

EMC Corp.’s security division RSA has announced new two-factor authentication advancements for BlackBerry smartphones at this week’s Wireless Enterprise Symposium in Orlando.

The RSA SecurIDR Token for BlackBerry aims to provide cost-effective deployment and management capabilities for IT managers and enterprise users. The product is a result of a four-year technical partnership between RSA and BlackBerry maker Research in Motion Ltd.

RSA SecurID’s two-factor authenticators will also users to take advantage of enterprise wireless networks for secure and no-cost access to enterprise applications. Features include direct access to the BlackBerry Mobile VPN (Virtual Private Network), new dynamic seed provisioning based on CT-KIP protocol, and tighter integration with BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
