Polycom certifies Nortel as telepresence partner

Polycom Inc. [Nasdaq: PLCM] has named Nortel Networks [NT] its first global Telepresence Certified Plus Partner. To achieve the designation, Nortel completed Polycom’s Telepresence Video Networks Operatons Centre (VNOC) Provider Program, which reviews the capabilities needed to provide a level of managed telepresence services, according to the companies. Nortel has eight Multimedia Network Operations Centres (MNOC) to extend telepresence beyond the end-user customer’s own facilities using Polycom or other open standards-based video systems, Nortel said.
