Pearson announces 75 ppm scanner

Pearson Education Inc.’s data management group of Eagan, Minn. has unveiled the insight30, a 75-page-per-minute desktop scanner intended for schools.

It includes the ScanTools software, which is designed to recognize and format documents, such as tests, attendance reports, surveys, student portfolios, personnel records and back office files. Users can feed different documents of different sizes and weights through the system. It’s bottom feed pick lets users continuously feed documents and collect documents in the same order in which they were scanned.

Pearson’s insight scanners include optical mark read (OMR) technology, which users intelligent character recognition to read handwriting, and also recognizes bar codes.
