Oracle certifies Database Vault for Siebel CRM

Oracle Corp. has certified its Database Vault software for use with Siebel CRM, so that administrators can give Siebel CRM users access without letting them view application data.

Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Oracle, which bought Siebel two years ago, says by preventing unauthorized access to application data, the vendor is helping companies comply with laws such as Sarbanes Oxley. By preventing ad-hoc access by Siebel business users, Oracle says it is enforcing access through the Siebel application account.
