COLLECT STATS WITH IPQoS

Progress IPQoS determines the overall availability and performance of distributed network devices and applications as they relate to service level agreements (SLAs), according to Progress Software Corp.

IPQoS collects statistics on well-known TCP/IP ports such as Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP)and POP3 services, as well as on application servers for groupware, e-commerce and the Web, Progress said.

The product is also said to monitor and collect statistics on Windows NT, NetWare file systems and NetWare Services. It then aggregates statistics from either single or multiple perspectives on an enterprise network and encapsulates this information into reports, the company said.

Progress IPQoS list pricing starts at US$995 for a 10-device licence.

Progress Software in Bedford, Mass., is at (781) 280-4000 or on the Web at www.progress.com.
