Layer 7 adds Solaris support for secure XML tools

A Vancouver firm specializing in XML-based hardware that facilitates the development of service oriented architectures and Web 2.0 on Monday announced support for Sun Microsystems’ Solaris 10 platform.

Layer 7 technologies said both its SecureSpan XML Firewall and Networking Gateway software will work on Sparc systems running Sun’s most recent operating system. The company said many of its customers use Sun x86 hardware on SOA and XML-related projects to run high-volume data centre applications.

SecureSpan XML Firewall is designed to secure SOAs that run business-to-business portals across more than one domain, while the gateway product handles message routing and virtualization, among other things.
