IBM Pentium III ThinkPad

IBM Corp. has introduced two inch-thick and very light laptop computers. The high-performance ThinkPad 240X weighs 3.2 pounds, features an Intel Pentium III 500-MHz processor, a 12GB hard drive and 4.7 hours of battery life, for a starting price of US$1,999 the company said. The new ThinkPads with Celeron processors weigh 2.9 lbs., sport a six GB hard drive and are priced starting at US$1,999. Corp. and Toshiba USA all offer laptops with Pentium III processors with speeds up to 700 MHz.
