Gric Communications Inc. said Monday it is integrating Jamcracker Inc.’s Enterprise Web services technology into its MobileOffice suite, offering corporate customers the ability to deploy and manage online applications through a single platform.
Gric MobileOffice Solution was released by the remote access network provider in April, offering security applications and Internet conferencing abilities. With the integration of Jamcracker Enterprise into the product, corporate network managers will have the ability to more easily deploy and monitor online applications being used by mobile workers, the companies said.
Some of the Web services initially available through the integrated platform will include UpShot, a sales force management tool, OpenAir, a time and expense management tool, and WebEx, a conferencing tool. Gric is also considering adding instant messaging and e-mail software to its offerings, according to company Marketing Director Richard Rossi.
The initial software integration will take about 30 days, Rossi said, and will be ready to roll out by the end of July.
“This alliance will give managers a lot of flexibility in how they allocate MobileOffice suite resources,” Rossi said.
Gric, based in Milpitas, Calif., offers users remote network access through more than 300 service providers and telecommunications companies in over 150 countries.
The company has just recently taken the leap from providing Net access to providing both access and services. By teaming with Jamcracker, based in Cupertino, Calif., Gric hopes to leverage its ability to offer software as a service.
