Video presence in the enterprise is growing at rates of up to 200 per cent annually, according to a Gartner report

Canadian cloud service provider RackForce Networks Inc. has partnered with New York-based video platform software company, Kaltura to offer a secure online video platform for enterprise companies.

In recent years video use in the enterprise has been growing. According to a recent Gartner report video presence in organizations is increasing at rates or around 50 per cent to 200 per cent annually. By 2016, the research firm estimates that companies will stream more than 16 hours of video per worker, per month.

Video is becoming the new norm, in part, because the underlying technology has advanced to a point that individuals can create, share, curate, and consume rich media.

However, many companies still face the challenge of finding an ideal solution with the features and capabilities they require but at the same time is easy to operate and maintain.

Kelowa, B.C.-based RackForce combined its expertise in cloud storage and networking with Kultura’s open and modular video platform to develop the Cloud Video service which the company says cuts clutter, complexity and cost from IT-manageable video.

RackForce’s Cloud Video services include a video portal application, easy video capture and online video editing tools, live streaming facilities, integrated HD video conferencing, and APIs to the entire video platform. The services can be accessed without the need for locally hosted hardware or software, and are enhanced with RackForce’s video-optimized network.

“Traditional IT-heavy or teleco-driven video solutions are often unnecessarily expensive, overly complicated and bureaucratic, while ‘freemium’ online solutions lack privacy and control and quality,” said Kevin Greenwood, CEO of RackForce Cloud Video. “Now, with the power of Kaltura in the RackForce Cloud our customers have simple and secure access to Kaltura’s best-in-class video platform and robust off-the-shelf products to engage online audiences with video on any connected device or social site, and to control and brand the message.”
