CGI ships order management system

CGI Group Inc. is shipping Tapestry 8.0, an order management system that includes Web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX.

Version 8.0 supports account management for communications service providers and includes supplementary business rules defined by users and enforced by a rules engine. With its Tapestry Service Manager, the product gives business users version control over configurable objects through the user interface.

CGI says users can control when and how changes are applied. It also supports the Telemanagement Forum’s framework interface specifications for sending and receiving API transactions.

Tapestry has a series of modules, including Event Pricer, which can price services in real time, using information on customers’ usage, in a service-oriented architecture.
