Avaya Inc. has announced that a number of its unified communications products have rexceived SIPconnect compliance certification from the SIP Forum. Avaya Communication Manager, a software platform for IP communications, and Avaya SIP Enablement services, achieved SIPconnect compliance for SIP trunking, according to the company. The SIP Forum is an industry association promoting session-intiated protocol technologies and standards for direct IP peering and interoperability between IP PBXs and voice over IP network providers. The SIPconnect compliance program validates multimedia interoperability among IP communications equipment manufacturers. Avaya is a founding member of the SIP Forum.
