When Microsoft Corp. spent US$1.2 billion for the Web collaboration platform called Yammer, people wondered how it will be integrated with its Office, Lync, SharePoint  and other enterprise products.

According to NetworkWorld U.S., this week Microsoft is expected to answer that question at the SharePoint 2012 conference in Las Vegas.

Microsoft hasn’t wasted time ensuring that Yammer’s assets are available to as wide an audience as possible. Last month it announced Yammer will integrate with Microsoft Dynamics CRM so Yammer feeds can be attached to specific CRM records.

"This new integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is just the first example of how you will see enhanced social experiences across Microsoft products and services," David Sacks, Yammer founder and corporate vice-president of Microsoft’s Office Division, said at the time.

Yammer also connects to third party apps including Salesforce,  GoodData, Kudos and WorkSimple.
